Bubble Cam debuts here – haha…doesn’t that sound awfully self important – it’s just me with a camera looking like a crazy woman going up to ppl asking for pics. I have always been a huge fan of streetstyle and judging by the number of ppl who like looking at all the different streetstyle threads on TFS, so do a lot of other people! London streetstyle I find particularly stimulating as depending on what postcode, and sometimes what STREET, the style can be totally different.
Today, I will feature streetstyle coming from the fashion mecca that is Topshop, Oxford Circus.
It proved to be harder than I thought getting people to stop for a second on bustling Oxford Street, so it might have been a tad ambitious to start Bubble-cam-ing there. Still, I managed to get SOME decent pics.
<<Wuahaha…my first victims…so young as well! Gosh…if only I looked that cool at the age of 13?? (just a guess!). The skinny jean has officially taken over London…bootcuts, flares? Pah…..for shame on those who wear them!
>>Two slightly older girls from York who like Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco….very emo-ified dress sense.
<<Two very cool looking guys….. so cool that they didn’t even have time to answer my questions. Floppy hair seems to be the order of the day. I particularly dig the guy on the right’s leather jacket – some ppl get this so wrong but I think he has nailed it!
>>You know when you see a pack of ppl looking this cool, immediately, the intimidation factor creeps in. The girls all had this beautiful super glittery eye make up. They cited Kirsten Dunst and Sienna Miller as style influences and Chloe and Escada as favourite designer labels. Doesn’t look it, but they’re all wearing mostly high street clothing – amazing what you can do with a bit of H&M and some cool people’s genes.
<< I really loved this girl’s jacket – it’s vintage apparently. And look Ugg boots – which I’m personally not a fan of but somehow she’s made them work – wonders never cease to happen.
>>You can’t see from the pic, but she had a vintage looking Louis Vuitton tote which really worked with this outfit. She likes Mischa Barton, Kate Moss, Gwen Stefani – the usual suspects. She also likes designers like Chanel and Versace but insisted she was a mix ‘n’ match kinda girl – aren’t we all?
<< I was drawn to this girl because of her lovely coat…. and I was amazed to discover that it was a thrift/charity store find. This girl is REALLY into her charity shops/thrifting! But she doesn’t come off looking like an overdressed magpie as some thrifters can do (myself included!) so that’s pretty cool!
>> This girl is one of my faves. I could spot her shoes a mile away – they’re from Brick Lane – naturally! She is influenced by the 50’s look, Marilyn Monroe etc and her favourite designer is Viktor & Rolf – a girl after my own heart!
Some more pics a la Topshop
