Nearly Head To Toe

In honour of being irrelevant and a little 'old hat' as per my last post, I'm seeking comfort in my dear old friend, the grey jersey today but only thanks to All of Above's short sleeved draped jacket which I received yesterday.  It seems word is getting out about my grey jersey habit… if you keep feeding the habit, I'll only have to eventually check myself in to some crazy clothes clinic.  Same goes for my love of black sequins.

Save for shoes, I am nearly head to toe in grey jersey which is my equivalent of Juicy Couture velour tracksuits in terms of comfort wear.  Despite the fact that jersey takes my tears pretty well (my old bedsheets will attest to that) I'm gonna stop boo-hooing.  Strike this day off in your Style Bubble-reading week as I'm not really myself.  The grey jersey is helping me get back to norm though… just gotta stop myself from snivelling too much in the oversized collar…

  1. You look so comfy, and so cute. What more can you want from fashion? That draped jacket is amazing.

  2. I love love love the whole outfit. I am obsessed with grey myself these days and I that jacket is awesome! Where did you get it?

  3. in regards to the “not quite ready” post:
your blog is one of about 12-15 fashion-related blogs i keep up with, but the first one i started reading. although blogs like jak & jil and garance dore have been creating a lot of buzz (deservedly) and i love looking at the style choices of blogs like the glamourai and karla’s closet, your blog is the only one where i can find such an informed opinion on designers i’ve never even heard of. while i love seeing current, well-known designer fashion, it’s always amazing to see all of the student work and more indie designers get recognition on your site. it’s really the reason why i think fashion is in such a great position now – the industry itself is falling to pieces with cutbacks and layoffs at major companies, but the internet (with blogging and independent online stores) make it possible for smaller designers to get their work seen and sold. my friend janet (of graey) had some of her clothes featured on your site and the exposure, as well as the compliment of you donning them, meant a lot to her. anyway, bottom line of this verbose posting is: keep doing what you do, because you fill a gap in the fashion blogging world.

  4. you look awesome susie. love the gray jers head to toe. thanks for cluing me in about all of the above, i really dig their stuff

  5. I love all the gray and your hair looks adorable up. You do head to toe monochromatic like no one else! Turn your frown upside down!

  6. Susie you look beautiful, I particularly love the skirt with the jacket, it looks great (: Also what are you talking about in the below post?!!! You are THE definitive fashion blogger, you inspired all those who have risen to such heights of success in the past year and everyone looks to you for the most inspiring pieces of fashion gold. And you put in so much effort, your posts are always really detailed whilst being enjoyable to read – that’s a talent.
Also thank you so much for commenting on my blog – a lot of bloggers stop doing that once they get ‘famous’ and I think it says a lot (of good things!) about you that you aren’t like that.

  9. Pure perfection, I love everything of your outfit and it proves that one colour from head to toe can be fantastic only because of different fabrics.

  10. Your monochromatic outfits are some of the most inspiring looks for me. the slightly different shades of grey work so well here.. i really love it!

  11. Everytime you do a post proclaiming your love for grey jersey, I go green with envy!
I love it too and your collection is to die for!

  12. Every girl needs a comfort outfit. And there’s nothing wrong with that, as we
fashionistas don’t always feel up to
par but we still need a little fashionable
    comfort.

…and thanks everyone for giving grey jersey much love….it really is a wonderful comforting fabric and I had a jolly good time in it last night… oh and I should put my hair up like this more often except it never stays up because I have so much hair…I’ll be lopping quite a bit of it off though soon….
K: It’s by All of the Above as per my post…
Bella: The skirt is from Hong Kong…forgotten where I bought it now as it’s so old…

    Gigi: Really? Which one?
Anthea: My nails are still bright pink at the mo but I have seen matt grey nail polish somewhere….

  19. Oh, this outfit is perfection to me…I need to all my grey things together now…and I feel compelled to sow up a jacket like the one you’re wearing.
As for your previous post, honestly, yes, there are a lot of new bloggers out there, but I like the fact that you thoroughly discuss the designers, and not just any designers. But designers that are not necessarily available to all, thus creating interest!
As for jetting around, I will be doing much the same, thou not for the same glamorous purposes as you: academic conferences!
Good luck battling with the cold!

  20. Wow! I have to say that this is one of my favorite outfits that I think I’ve ever seen on your blog….grey is great! …And all monochrome together is really cool and edgy, but still soft. A+ Fabulous. 🙂
